Condolence From: Dick Lowe
Condolence: Today, April 6, 2021, I checked online to see about Tom. I have been out of touch with many friends the last three years due to heart surgery, family crises, and was saddened to read of his death.
Once very close friends (he and my brother married the Plemons sisters of Winston Salem) (his son, Chip, was the ring bearer in my wedding of DiAnne Knox, June 1967). We enjoyed many things together, races, UNC football, fishing, lake events, once spent day together at driver Buddy Baker's
house, that day's race being rained out, many other parties
(Tom loved a good party), the movie "Mad, Mad, Mad World" when we laughed non stop for 4 hours.
Every minute we spent with Tom was a treasure; we called him "Higgy" (my brother hung that nickname on Tom); he loved doing things with us because he appreciated beautiful women. For years we had houses about two miles apart at
Lake Norman w/o knowing it. Why did we lose touch? I don't know? It was my great loss.

Condolence From: Jack Kimbro
Condolence: Tom and I attended the then Brevard Jr. College 1955-57. He was a friend with a terrific memory and a formidable gift for writing about the outdoors and NASCR for the Charlotte Observer for many years.
May he rest in peace. Condolences to his family.
